The soft drink was also on sale everywhere around the Olympic Stadium at the time.

Coca Cola
DEPOSIT ON CANS

Did you know that from 1 April 2023 a deposit will be given on the return of cans? The government in the Netherlands has set the deposit amount at €0.15 per can. So from April, consumers or organisations can simply return cans of, for example, Coca Cola, Fanta and Red Bull.

The social purpose of this is to collect valuable material so that it can be reused. So that means less litter and more circularity. That energises us at Frisdrank.com!

7UP

Did you know that 7UP became a success by patenting and advertising it as an anti-hangover remedy? In 1929, this soft drink was invented by Charles Leiper Grigg in St Louis. By taking this angle for advertising, 7UP filled a gap in the market and became a huge success. At the time, the soft drink was sold with the name ‘Bib-Label Lithiated Lemon-Lime Soda’, but as you might understand, this name was changed to 7UP shortly afterwards.

Did you know that the Chupa Chups brand was created by a sweet and a fork? In 1958, Mr Enric Bernat devised a way for someone to eat a sweet from a fork. The concept of the lollipop was born! Did you know that the real breakthrough of iced tea was in 1904? At the World's Fair in St Louis, the hot weather brought plantation owner Richard Blechynden a hunch. Did you know that Sprite Lemon Lime contains 100% natural ingredients? There is also no caffeine in this refreshing drink! Carefree enjoyment with natural flavours.

Fanta ORIGIN

Did you know that Fanta came about ‘by accident’? In 1940, our eastern neighbours could not get the right raw materials to produce Coca-Cola; there was a scarcity due to WWII. With the ingredients that were available, at that time, they developed a similar drink. This was to maintain production and the factory. The name Fanta is derived from the German words ‘fantastic’ and ‘imaginative’.

Ice Tea

Did you know that ice tea was first written about as early as 1879? In the cookbook ‘Housekeeping in Old Virginia’, the author recommended letting green tea steep for a day. Fanta

Did you know that #Fanta can taste different in different places? In Spain, for example, Spaniards prefer to drink Fanta with a sweeter taste and a more intense colour. This preference is because oranges in Spain are naturally more intense in flavour and deeper in colour. The imported oranges we find on the Dutch market have a lot less of this, so our Fanta is also a bit milder and lighter in colour. So Fanta always takes into account the country where they release their drinks!
