Soft drinks are most often sold in PET bottles. Because these bottles are so easy to shape, almost any form can be created. That’s why virtually every soft drink manufacturer has developed its own PET bottle design that perfectly matches the brand image they want to convey.
This also makes it easier for consumers to recognize the product. Soft drinks such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi-Cola, Fanta, Sinas, 7UP and Sprite each have their own distinctive PET bottle design.
A major advantage of PET bottles compared to cans is that they can be resealed. This means consumers don’t have to drink the entire contents in one go.
PET Bottles for Water and Sports Drinks

Recycled PET Bottles
PET bottles caused a true revolution in packaging within the beverage industry. In the past, plastic bottles were subject to a deposit system and returned to the manufacturer after use. There, they were thoroughly cleaned and reused.
After intensive use, the packaging sometimes no longer looked representative. That’s why Coca-Cola was one of the first to switch to one-way PET bottles. Only new bottles are used, but they are made from recycled plastic.
Used bottles are recycled into new plastic bottles. This is more hygienic and also strengthens a brand’s image.
Different Sizes
PET bottles often contain slightly more than cans. Most bottles have a capacity of 33 cl or 50 cl. There are also special sizes, such as Extran PET bottles with a capacity of 27.5 cl or MoGu MoGu, which has a slightly different size of 32 cl.
Small PET bottles are usually packed in sets of 12, making them easy to transport and stack. This way, they take up as little space as possible. There are also larger PET bottles, such as Uludağ Gazoz with a capacity of no less than 150 cl.
In that case, we no longer refer to PET bottles as “small bottles,” but simply as PET bottles. From 50 cl upwards, they are generally considered full-size PET bottles.
